The day after your wedding I send you a short preview, cut upright so it sits properly on your phone. It's the one you'll send to your mum, your friends and everyone who couldn't be there, weeks before the full film is finished.

Why I care so much about sound

Photographs give you back how the day looked. Only a film gives you back how it sounded.

Your dad's voice cracking on the second line of his speech. The exact pitch of the room when you walked back down the aisle. The song someone shouted over at midnight.

That's the part people don't expect to care about and then care about most. It's also the hard part, and it's where most of my attention goes on the day: getting clean audio on the vows and the speeches, so that ten years from now the film still does its job.

Everything else - the light, the movement, the edit - is built around that.

Where I film

I'm based in the Cotswolds and I travel. The films on this page were made at Brympton House in Somerset, Elmore Court, Cripps Barn, in central London and in Tuscany. I'm a recommended supplier at Elmore Court and Millbridge Court, so if you're marrying at either, I'll already know my way around. Questions couples ask me

How far ahead should I book?

Some couples book two years ahead and others come to me very last minute, so I would always say ask, whatever your date. Send me your date and I'll check my diary. If I'm free, I'll set up a video chat so we can see whether we're a good fit.

Can I see a full-length film?

Yes, I'm happy to share one. Just drop me a message and ask.

Will you direct us or pose us on the day?

No posing. It's all natural, and I only step in if it needs it, with a prompt where it helps. The rest of the time I'm watching for the real moments.

How do you record the vows and speeches?

With unobtrusive clip-on microphones you'll forget you're wearing, which is how I get clean sound on your vows and speeches.

Will you film if we have a different photographer?

Yes, happily. I get on with anyone, and some of my best friends are photographers I met while filming at weddings.

Do you film with a drone?

Yes, and I'm fully CAA licensed.

Do you travel for weddings?

Yes, I travel anywhere. I'm based in the Cotswolds, but I go wherever the story takes me. I've filmed across the UK and in Tuscany, France and Greece, and I'd love to come to your wedding wherever it is.

What happens if you're ill or something goes wrong on the day?

I have an amazing team around me, and I'm part of a great network of industry friends who all help each other out in exactly this situation.
